In September, during the harvest, the perfectly ripe and carefully chosen bunches are harvested by hand and quickly transported to the cool of the cellar to begin processing. Our two Chianti DOCGs are both made from 100% Sangiovese grapes from vineyards with an altitude ranging from 300 to 400 meters above sea level. Despite the dedication to the single variety, we have also decided to give a touch of modernity to our Sangiovese, creating a pleasant and balanced blend with the Merlot that has taken root fertile and vigorous on our hills. Thus were born the three IGT labels, I Lastricheti, Macchione and ZeroSol. For the Chianti and Macchione reserves we use grapes from vineyards planted at higher altitudes, which rise along the slopes of a steep hill entirely exposed, with stony and gravelly soil.
